Dust penetrates into the product, and its effects on the product include:
1. Invade seals and housings;
2. Change electrical performance, such as contact resistance, track resistance and surface leakage current;
3. Block and wear moving parts such as bearings;
4. Pollute the optical surface, pollute the lubricant, and abrade the surface;
5. Block vent, pipeline, filter, operation hole, etc;
6. Dust can be used as the core of water vapor condensation to promote abrasion and mold growth
For dust prevention requirements, ip6x should be higher than ip5x. Ip6x does not allow dust to penetrate into the tested object, while ip5x allows part of dust to enter, but the entered dust does not affect the normal operation and safety of the equipment:
1. Enclosure type:
The first kind: the air pressure in the shell during the normal working cycle of the equipment is lower than the surrounding atmospheric pressure, such as caused by the thermal cycle effect;
The second kind: the air pressure in the shell is the same as the surrounding atmospheric pressure During ip5x test, except for the second kind of shell specified in relevant product standards, the shell is regarded as the first kind, and negative pressure test is applied; During ip6x test, products are regarded as the first kind of shell, and negative pressure test is applied.
2. Test conditions:
The first kind of shell: the pressure in the shell is maintained by a vacuum pump, the air extraction volume is 80 times the volume of the tested shell or vulnerable parts, the air extraction speed is not more than 60 times the volume of the shell per hour, and the pressure difference shall not exceed 2KPa (20mbar) in any case The air extraction speed is 40-60 times the shell volume /h, and the test is carried out for 2h; If the maximum pressure difference is 2KPa (20mbar) and the air extraction speed is less than 40 times of the shell volume /h, the test can be stopped only after 80 times of the volume or 8 hours.
Note: the shell volume can generally measure the length, width and height of the product and calculate the volume For complex locations, the volume can be calculated by drawing size.
The second kind of shell: put the tested shell into the test box according to the normal working position, without connecting the vacuum pump, and the test lasts for 8h.
3. Acceptance basis:
Ip5x receiving conditions: after the test, if there is dust entering, but the amount of dust entering does not affect the normal operation and safety of the equipment, it is considered to be qualified
Ip6x receiving conditions: after the test, if there is no obvious dust deposition in the shell, it is considered to be qualified.
