Product No: IK07-10VT
IK07-10VT Vertical Hammer Impact Tester is a high-precision tester designed specifically to evaluate the vertical impact resistance of product casings. Based on the principle of vertical free fall, it simulates the impact loads encountered by products during transportation, such as drops and heavy objects falling, to determine the impact protection level of the casing and structural components. The device utilizes a highly rigid frame and a precise drop weight guide system, enabling precise adjustment of the drop weight height and stable release.
It is widely applicable for impact testing of products across multiple industries. In the lighting sector, it can perform IK07-IK10 rating tests on outdoor floodlights and streetlight casings. In the power equipment sector, it can perform IK09-IK11 mechanical impact strength tests on sheet metal casings of substations and non-metallic electrical cabinets. Furthermore, it can verify the impact resistance of products such as outdoor communications equipment and new energy charging station casings.

• Impact energy, equivalent mass, and drop height are shown in Table 2

IK07-10VT Drop Height
According to IEC 62262, the IK rating (Degrees of Protection Against External Mechanical Impacts) is a core indicator for measuring a product’s ability to withstand external mechanical impacts. It’s expressed as “IKXX,” where “XX” is a two-digit number (ranging from 00-10). A higher number indicates a higher level of impact protection and, consequently, a higher impact energy level (measured in joules) that can be resisted. The following table shows the relationship between different IK ratings and impact energies:
| IK Level | IK Level Description | Impact Energy J | Application Examples |
| IK07 | Resista to heavy impact (such as a 1kg object falling from a height of 1m) | 2 | Commercial display screens, elevator control panels, distribution boxes |
| IK08 | Resist to severe impact (e.g. 2.5kg object dropped from 1m height) | 5 | Outdoor cabinets, heavy machinery equipment housings, charging piles |
| IK09 | Resist to strong impact (such as a 5kg object falling from a height of 1m) | 10 | Industrial heavy equipment, vehicle exterior components, explosion-proof junction boxes |
| IK10 | Resist to severe impact (such as a 7.5kg object falling from a height of 1m) | 20 | Explosion-proof equipment housings, mining machinery parts, port equipment |
| IK11 | Resist to extreme impact (e.g. 10kg object dropped from 1.2m height) | 50 | Heavy industrial equipment housings, engineering machinery cabs, and high-voltage equipment protective housings |
Note: LISUN provides the IK07-10VT vertical drop weight impact tester, with the IK11VT (50J) optional.
Typical Applications:
1. Lighting and Industrial Equipment: Perform vertical impact testing on outdoor floodlight housings and industrial control cabinets to verify their ability to withstand accidental impacts during installation and maintenance, in compliance with GB/T 7000.1-2022 and IEC 60598-1:2020.
2. Electronics and Electrical Industry: Perform vertical drop impact testing on smartphone housings, laptop computers, and home appliance control panels to verify their resistance to daily drops, in compliance with GB/T 20138-2023 and IEC 62262:2021.
3. Packaging Materials Industry: Perform vertical drop impact testing on transport packaging (such as cartons, cushioning foam, and wooden pallets) to test their ability to protect the products inside, in compliance with GB/T 4857.5-2019 and ISO 2248-2016, enabling optimized packaging design.
