Color Rendition Index CRI

Light object by the lighting source and standard source(Generally, sunlight is as the standard source), the degree consistent with color is the color fidelity degree, represented by Ra, the maximum value is 100. As an important index to measure the quality of lighting, Color Rendition Index (CRI) is related to the color reduction degree of lamp to object itself, CRI is higher, the color of object is more real.

Color rendering has two kinds: 1. True color, it needs high CRI(Ra) light source to correctly show the original color of object, the value is close to 100, the CRI is better. 2. Effect color, to clearly emphasize a particular color and show the beauty of life, use the method of adding color to strengthen color effect. Adapting low color temperature source lighting can make red more bright; adapting middle color temperature source lighting can make blue cool feeling; adapting high color temperature can make objects cool feeling.

CRI is not unique to LED, all light sources have the parameter, it is the reducing capacity of color. Solar CRI is 100, incandescent lamp is also 100, CFL is 80-90, LED is 70-90. CRI is lower, it is more distortion for naked eye to see color. Incandescent lamp’s theoretical CRI is 100, but there is a wide variety of incandescent lamps, application is also different, so the CRI value is not the same. Only to say that it is close to 100, it is the best CRI lamps.
