What type of Goniophotometer do you need for your product

What is a Goniophotometer?

LISUN goniophotometers can be used to examine angle-dependent optical characteristics of LED and SSL products. This includes everything from single-packaged LEDs to LED modules and light engines. As well as big SSL lamps and luminaires.

Type C goniophotometers are built in such a way that their optical axis horizontally aligned. They have a turning luminaire configuration where each goniometer sets the standard in its class. This is done in terms of precision, dependability, and handling. These goniophotometers can be used together with an Instrument Systems spectroradiometer. They can calculate spectral values in addition to the photometric data as well. These values include color coordinates, color temperature, and even color rendering index as a function of angle.

What can be measured using a Goniophotometer?

Devices produced by LISUN can measure various forms of illumination sources. These include LED, Plant Lighting, and HID luminaires, including indoor and outdoor luminaires, roadway luminaires, street lamps, flood lights, and other types of luminaires. LSG-6000 goniophotometer is the most commonly used device for this purpose.

The type C goniometer is a spinning mirror goniometer. It can accurately monitor the intensity distribution of luminaires. This is done using the LM-79 protocol. The luminaires’ maximum size is 610 mm x 1220 mm. The results of a fully automated data collection are presented in the form of IES files, test files, or Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. The goniophotometer is as accurate as a NIST-traceable power meter.

Where can you use Goniophotometers?

Goniophotometers are used for the creation of IES photometric data sets. They are also used to test luminaires. This testing is carried out in accordance with the LM-79 standard. They can put interior and outdoor lighting to the test as well. These tools are also appropriate for recognized laboratories.

What are the types of Optical Goniometer?

Universal Goniometer

It comes in two sizes. One having small arm and the other long arm. An optical goniometer with a short arm is used for minor joints like the wrist, elbow, and knee. Longer-heel joints, such as the knee and hip joints, require a precise goniometer with a long arm. The most common type of goniometer is the universal goniometer.

Twin Axis Electro goniometer

This kind of goniometer has a higher level of consistency. It is more consistent than the universal goniometer. Despite this, it is primarily used for research purposes. It is because it is difficult to use it in clinical patient assessments.

Gravity Goniometer

One arm of this instrument has a weighted pointer that stays upright in the face of gravity. It is either a software or a smartphone-based goniometer. The use of a Smartphone as a digital optical goniometer has a number of benefits. These benefits include accessibility, measurement ease, application-based measurement tracking, and one-handed use.

Arthrodial Goniometer

It’s perfect for determining cervical spine lateral flexion, anteroposterior bending, and cervical spine rotation.

What are some benefits of a Goniophotometer?

Type C goniophotometer is used for specimens that are up to 1900 millimeters in diameter. The device has easy steps. Following these steps will make mounting samples on the instrument a simple process. It also enables you to determine the luminous intensity and flux with accuracy. It helps you conduct an angular-resolved study of spectral and colorimetric parameters. Optional features of the device include a luminous flux integrator and burning position correction.

LISUN vs LMT Goniophotometer

LISUN Goniophotometer

The near field detector and the large mirror move in a line In LISUN goniophotometers. The far field detector and the huge mirror both move at the same time. The luminares’ burning position will be maintained without movement. Furthermore, the detector will always detect light directly from the luminares.

The angle decoding system is from Germany, while the rotary motor is from Japan’s MITSUBISHI MOTORS. They assist the goniophotometer in rotating smoothly and accurately. It is quite stable when starting and stopping. The working principles of the device are IESNA and CIE compliant. The LM-80, LM-79, LM-75, GB, EN, and CIE121-1996 standards are all fully met by the LSG-6000.

A special collimation device with a cross laser line allows you to quickly and precisely place the luminaires under test. The test luminaire revolves around the mirror at an angle of vertical axis 180° (or 0-360°) and around itself at an angle of horizontal axis 180° (or 0-360°). Angle precision is 0.05° and angle resolution is 0.001°.

The LISUN goniophotometer program supports the export of CIE, IES, LDT, and other file formats. Other illumination and luminaire design applications can use this format files as well. Example include DiaLux. You can use a USB cable to connect the goniophotometer to the computer. The English version of the software runs on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows 11.

LMT Goniophotometer

The LMT devices are made to properly measure lighting equipment. This equipment includes headlamps and other parts of transport vehicles. It usually tests equipment for quality control, development aspects and to fulfil regulations and testing standards. Such instruments are made up of a mechanical system, a system for angle measurement, a photometer, driving and control system, an interface to computer and a special software. It also helps you find the spatial luminous intensity distribution of light sources.

The goniometer rotates the test sample placed on top of the mounting table. This rotation takes place at a set pair of angles around a vertical and horizontal axis.  The instrument’s mechanical system, along with its angle measurement system, has an accuracy rate of 0.01 degrees.

Furthermore, measurements are carried out in minimum time through the high movement and measurement speed of the instrument. The maximum load is 75 kg. This is for a limited operation range of around 20 degrees. While the maximum load for operation range is 50 kg.

The instrument also has adjustable legs and wheels for easy movement. Its design leads to a vibration free operation as well. Sample table can be adjusted using computer controls. It also has the option for manual control by using the buttons on the switchboard on the goniometer.

Lisun Instruments Limited was found by LISUN GROUP in 2003. LISUN quality system has been strictly certified by ISO9001:2015. As a CIE Membership, LISUN products are designed based on CIE, IEC and other international or national standards. All products passed CE certificate and authenticated by the third party lab.
