Product No: RSB-ISO19642
RSB-ISO19642 Automotive Cables Resistance to Flame Propagation Test Apparatus is mainly used for testing the flame resistance performance of insulating materials for automotive cables, enabling accurate determination of their combustion characteristics. This apparatus supports customizable preset combustion durations for samples, with conveniently adjustable flame parameters, making it suitable for compliance verification and reliability screening of automotive cables of various specifications.
A Bunsen burner conforming to ISO 19642-2 standard (9mm inner diameter combustion tube) was used, with its internal blue flame temperature stabilized at (950±50)℃. The test specimen was suspended in a metal casing without ventilation, exposing the specimen to the tip of the inner cone of the flame, and pressure was used to keep the specimen upright throughout. The flame is applied to the specimen at a vertical angle of 45° ± 10°, with the flame tip precisely contacting the upper section of the insulation layer at (500 ± 5) mm. The flame application time strictly varied depending on the cable specification:
• For samples with conductor size < 2.5 mm²: apply flame for 15S+2S.
• For samples with conductor size ≥ 2.5 mm²: apply flame for 30S+2S. After removing the flame, the conductor of the sample should not be broken.
