Product No: SMT-T20
IEC 60335-2-11 Test Probe for Measuring Surface Temperatures is designed specifically for testing household and similar electrical appliances, focusing on accurate surface temperature rise measurement fully meet IEC 60335-2-11 Figure 101 and IEC 60335-2-6 Figure 104 . It integrates a Type K thermocouple (chrome alumel) for reliable thermal sensing, paired with a handle that ensures a consistent contact force of 4 N ± 1 N—critical for precise readings. The probe also includes a tinned copper disc (flat contact face) and a polycarbonate tube for structural stability, meeting safety and performance needs for appliances like tumble dryers, hobs, and ovens as specified in key IEC standards.
Specifications:
• Thermocouple: Type Type K (chrome alumel).
• Thermocouple Wire Diameter: 0.3 mm
• Contact Force: 4 N ± 1 N (achieved via handle arrangement)
• Tinned Copper Disc: 5 mm diameter, 0.5 mm thickness (flat contact face)
• Polycarbonate Tube: Inner diameter: 3 mm; Outer diameter: 5 mm
• Handle Function: Ensures stable contact force and easy probe positioning
Test Procedures:
• Inspect the probe for physical damage or wear (e.g., cracked tube, loose disc).
• Position the copper disc of the probe on the target surface of the appliance.
• Use the handle to apply a contact force of 4 N ± 1 N to the probe.
• Wait for the temperature reading to stabilize (follow appliance test guidelines for wait time).
• Record the measured surface temperature accurately.
• Remove the probe gently from the appliance surface.
Applications:
• Surface temperature rise measurement of household tumble dryers.
• Thermal testing of stationary cooking ranges and electric hobs.
• Surface temperature monitoring of household ovens during safety compliance tests.
• Temperature verification of similar electrical appliances requiring thermal safety checks.
