How do environmental chambers work

Uncontrolled environmental conditions, such as temperature and humidity, may be achieved in an Environmental Chamber, which is an enclosed chamber. An environmental chamber enables the product to be tested in two climates: a continental climate with cold winters and hot summers and a Mediterranean climate with greater temperatures, both of which are possible in the chamber.

Working of environmental chamber

Using a variety of mechanical procedures, you may operate the environmental chamber on the concept that you can control all conditions manually.

The chamber’s temperature is regulated by an electric heater for heating and a refrigeration unit for cooling. The researchers spray a salt solution into the chamber via a nozzle located within the chamber, resulting in a fine mist coating the whole product. This simulates the corrosive impact of the sea, for example.

There are two distinct approaches to imitate humidity in the test chamber: evaporating water using a heat source or ultrasonic technology to break up the water molecules.

Most of the time, a steam generator is used to bring water vapour into a test chamber, which then warms the water and produces steam. This vapour climbs to the top of the environmental chamber, where it is cooled once again, increasing the overall humidity in the test chamber as it does so. When used in large chambers, this approach is advantageous since it can quickly produce high humidity levels.
