IEC 60810:2022 is an international standard released by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on April 1, 2022. This standard is applicable to filament lamps, discharge lamps, LED light sources, and LED packages used in road vehicles, including headlamps, fog lamps, signal lamps, and interior lighting. It specifies the requirements and test methods for measuring performance characteristics such as lamp life, luminous flux maintenance, torsion strength, glass bulb strength, and resistance to vibration and shock. In addition, it provides information on temperature limits, maximum lamp outlines, and maximum tolerable voltage surges as a guide for lighting and electrical equipment design.
The performance requirements of IEC 60810:2022 are additional to the basic requirements specified in IEC 60809, and they are not intended for legal type-approval purposes by authorities. This standard plays an important role in ensuring the reliability and safety of road vehicle lighting equipment, helping manufacturers improve product quality and meet market requirements.
