This client is a professional electronics and lighting manufacturing factory based in the Middle East. It specializes in a full range of LED commercial lighting, outdoor luminaires and indoor light sources, whose products are supplied to local markets and exported to neighboring Middle Eastern countries. Its products must comply with multiple market access standards including Saudi SASO energy efficiency registration, EU ErP directives and North American LM series standards. The enterprise has built an in-house R&D laboratory, yet it previously relied entirely on third-party testing institutions for photometry, colorimetry and goniophotometry tests. Outsourced testing led to long lead times and high recurring costs, and failed to support synchronous new product development cycles. To build independent in-house testing capabilities and shorten product certification timelines, the client planned to construct a complete optical laboratory and purchase two sets of core optical testing equipment to realize full-parameter independent testing of lighting products.
During formal inquiry, the client put forward two core testing demands. First, the system needed to rapidly measure comprehensive photometric, colorimetric and electrical parameters such as luminous flux, correlated color temperature, color rendering index and lumen maintenance rate, and generate test reports compliant with LM-79-19, LM-80 and ANSI-C78.377 standards. Second, precise measurement of spatial luminous intensity distribution, light distribution curves, UGR glare values and isolux curves was required, with support for IES and LDT file export compatible with lighting design software, in accordance with CIE-70, EN13032-1 and SASO photometric specifications. Additional requirements included high angular precision, compatibility with large-size high-power luminaires, bilingual English-Chinese software, full Windows system compatibility and PDF compliance report export functions.
Taking the client’s maximum luminaire dimension and 60kg load-bearing demand as well as high-precision testing standards into consideration, we specifically recommended the LSG-1800B High Precision Rotation Luminaire Goniophotometer and LPCE-2 (LMS-9000C) High Precision Spectroradiometer Integrating Sphere System. The LSG-1800B delivers 0.1° ultra-fine angular resolution and dual-mode rotation testing to capture light distribution data for all types of lamps. The LPCE-2 integrating sphere spectral system features wavelength accuracy of ±0.3nm, enabling one-stop acquisition of full chromatic, photometric and electrical parameters. The combined solution fully covered all testing demands raised by the client, alongside supplementary supporting solutions such as optional UV probes and darkroom layout planning. The client confirmed placement of order after full recognition of our technical proposal.
Upon receiving the client’s official order, our factory immediately launched customized production of the two equipment sets. We completed assembly of full supporting accessories including standard light sources, variable frequency power supplies, constant-temperature integrating spheres and multi-functional fixtures. Before delivery, all units underwent full-range calibration and a 72-hour stability aging test, accompanied by complete bilingual calibration certificates, operation manuals and standard document packages.
After sea freight delivery to the client’s plant, we dispatched senior optical engineers to provide one-stop local on-site services. Our engineers took charge of all work including unpacking and positioning, darkroom wiring, mechanical calibration, photometric probe calibration and software commissioning. A three-day systematic training session was held on-site, covering basic equipment operation, sample clamping, multi-standard testing workflows, data export, report generation, routine maintenance and simple troubleshooting. Our team guided lab staff through hands-on testing of core products such as LED floodlights and panel lights, guaranteeing the client’s team full independence to complete all testing procedures.

Reliance on third-party laboratories was eliminated, significantly shortening new product launch cycles. Measurement accuracy has passed verification by local standard authorities, greatly boosting the client’s market competitiveness. The client spoke highly of the equipment’s stability, measurement precision and localized on-site technical support. It plans to expand UV light source testing modules later to develop its business in plant lighting and UV luminaire testing.
Both parties will deepen cooperation continuously in the future.
