Introduction

The Salt Spray Test Chamber applies to the salt spray corrosion test to protect layers of the components, parts, electronic and other electric parts, including the metal materials and industrial products.

Accessories of a salt test chamber include; a measuring cylinder, sodium chloride, spare nozzle, and a sample holder. There is also a plastic bag in the package that contains a CD, calibrated certificates and a guarantee card. There are user manuals, operation videos, and related CD standards.

Working of salt spray test chamber

Remove the wrapping film of the test chamber. Connect the power cord to the power source. The required power parameters are on the product nameplate.
•  It includes an exhausting fog port, which must be kept unlocked. It can be connected to the sewer or   outdoors with a hose.
• Keep the drain valve closed.
• It can be opened when you need to replace the water in the tank after the test is over.
• Open the salt spray chamber cover.
• These heaters heat the water in the chamber to reach the standard test environment. This valve is used   to empty the sodium chloride solution. Keep it closed.
• The temperature sensors are used to obtain the temperature of the chamber and the temperature of the water in the chamber.
• An Air inlet is used when the fog needs to be exhausted.
• The air will enter the box through the air inlet and clear the salt fog. Spray the tower.
• The measuring cylinder is connected to the fog collector.
• Turn on the air compressor and connect the hose here.
• Adjust this knob to ensure that the air pressure is about 0.2 Mpa. Press the button on the front to turn on the chamber.
• The touch screen program automatically enters the self-checking. Click ‘’OK’’ to enter the main menu.
•  Click on ‘’Monitor Screen’’. The three indicators would be red at the beginning. ‘’LT Water’’ is the water   in the tank.
• Add the clean tap water to the tank until the ‘’LT Water’’ indicator light turns green.
• ‘ST Water’ is the water in the saturated barrel. Open the valve and slowly pour the pure water until the ‘’ST Water’’ indicator turns red to yellow and green.
• Keep this valve closed if there is no need to add the water to the saturated barrel.
•’SA Water’ is a sodium chloride solution. The general concentration of the sodium chloride solution   required by the standard is 5%. That is 500 g sodium chloride with 9500 ml purified water.
• Pour the solution into the tank here until the ‘’SA Water’’ indicator turns green. The solution tank can be filled to ensure that the test can last long enough.

Sample Holders

here are two types of sample holders:
• The cylindrical ones are placed on the upper layer for hanging the samples.
• The triangle ones are placed in the lower layer for the direct displacement of the samples.

Put the tap water to seal the chamber after the cover is closed completely. Then, close the cover.
Before starting the test, click on ‘’SPRAY’’ to start the spray manually. Rotate the knob to adjust the gauge on the left to 1kg/cm2. Click again on ‘’SPRAY’’ to turn off the spray. Going back to the main menu, no need to set anything in the ‘’USER SETTING’’.

A ‘’CLOCK’’ is used to set the alarm clock. For Example, if you need to add the sodium chloride solution after 10 hours, you can set a 10-hour alarm clock. Now, click on ‘’TEST SETTINGS’’. Different standards need to be tested at different temperatures by using different solutions.

For the ‘’NSS’’ Standard test, you need to set the chamber temperature to 35 degrees Celsius and the saturated barrel temperature to 47 degrees Celsius. Now, set the total test time.

Pause the spray time. If you need to spray all the time, set the pause time to 0. You can also set all the parameters freely on the ‘’Custom’’ interface. If you need to use the different temperatures during one test, click ‘’Program’’. Set different temperatures and test times and set the circulation mode and cycles.

Click on ‘’START’’ to start the test. The heaters in the saturated barrel and chamber start to work. The spray will automatically start after the chamber temperatures and the saturated barrel temperature reach the set temperatures.

Result

If the ‘’SA Water’’ indicator turns red, you can directly add sodium chloride solution to the solution tank during the test. The ‘’ST Water’’ indicator will turn yellow first. It is okay, and it can still test for a very long time. You need to add pure water when it turns red. Click ‘’Pause’’ and then add pure water to the saturated barrel.

We do the salt spray test in the following steps:
1. Firstly, we power on the salt spray test chamber.
2. Secondly, press the red power switch panel from left to right. You will notice that; the low water level A light is on, the low saltwater B light is on, and the low water level C light is on.
3. Pour the distilled water directly into the test chamber. Wait until the water level A indicator lights off, and stop adding water.
