Why should there be IP waterproof grade test?
IP waterproof test equipment can also be called as rain test chamber, waterproof detector, waterproof test machine, IP waterproof test machine, etc. It is applicable to including but not limited to electronic and electrical products, diving equipment, mobile phones, bracelet meters, household appliances, LED lamps, lighting fixtures, swimming pool lamps, connectors, automotive instruments and other products.

Regarding the IP waterproof grade test, the industry mainly manufactures the corresponding waterproof test equipment according to GB4208-2008/IEC60529-2013. Why should enterprises attach importance to IP protection level test? Here are three reasons:

1. National mandatory provisions (GB4208-2008)
Careful friends will see that the standard starts with GB, not GB or other letters. GB stands for national mandatory regulations. All electrical equipment that needs to be protected with the help of the shell shall pass the test of this standard.

2. Relevant regulations of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEV60529-2013)
The manufacture of waterproof test equipment also refers to the relevant standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission IEC60529-2013 (replaced by IEC60529-2001 in 2013). What do the 9 digits of the IP protection level test device represent?
The IP protection level test device is the classification of IP waterproof test equipment, which is named from low to high, and is divided into 1-9 different protection levels.

Ipx1 level means to prevent water dripping in the vertical direction; Ipx2 level means to prevent water dripping in the vertical direction when the shell is tilted at 15 °; Ipx3 level means anti-water, when the vertical surface of the shell is within 60 °; Ipx4 level means splash-proof, splashing water in all directions of the shell; Ipx5 level indicates water spray prevention, which sprays water in all directions of the shell; IPx6 level means strong water spray prevention, and strong water spray in all directions of the shell.

The ipx7/8 level represents the immersion level, and the ipx7 level represents the anti-short time immersion; IPx8 refers to the protection against continuous flooding, which is described in the national standard GB/T4208: it is manufactured by the user and the manufacturer through negotiation (it should be more severe than Level 7); IPx9 level means anti-high temperature/high pressure water spray, and high temperature/high pressure water is sprayed in all directions of the shell. It should be noted that these water will not cause harmful effects.

IPx56 test method in IP waterproof test equipment: nozzle inner diameter: IPX5 is 6.3mm; IPX6 is 12.5mm; Water flow: IPX5 is 12.5 ± 0.625L/min; IPX6 is 100 ± 5L/min; The water pressure is regulated according to the specified water flow; The central part of the main water flow is 2.5m away from the nozzle, and the diameter of IPX5 is about 40mm; IPX6 is 120mm; The water spraying time per square meter of the shell surface is about 1min; The test time shall be at least 3 min.

Why do we need third-party measurement certification?
In fact, the certification of the equipment is to detect whether the equipment conforms to the national standard parameters of IP protection, and also to detect whether the product conforms to the standard requirements of the equipment. If the product has water leakage during or after the test under the test conditions of standard parameters, it indicates that the test sample does not meet the requirements of the waterproof standard.

Different equipment requires different functions for metering and certification. Here are two different types of equipment: ipx34Swing Pipe Water Spray Test Equipment and ipx56 Waterproof Jet Test Device.
