The sand and dust test chamber can also be called a dustproof testing machine, dust proof chamber, etc. It is used to test the physical and other related properties of electronic and electrical products, lamps, cabinets, electrical components, automobiles, motorcycles, and their components under simulated dust climate conditions. After testing, the performance of the product and whether it meets the requirements in working condition are judged through verification.
Executive standards for sand and dust test chambers:
Comply with the requirements of IEC60529:1989+A1:1999+A2:2013 Degrees of Protection Provided by Enclosures (IP Code), Clause 13.4 and 13.5 of GB4208-2017 Degrees of Protection Provided by Enclosures (IP Code) and Figure 3, as well as Clause 9.2.1, 9.2.2 and Figure 6 of GB7000.1 Luminaires Part 1: General Requirements and Tests.
Working principle:
The sand and dust test chamber is a powder circulation pump in a closed test chamber that can be replaced by other methods that can suspend talc powder. Talc powder should be filtered through a metal square mesh sieve. Straight wire diameter 50 μ m. Sieve size is 75 μ m。 The dosage of talc powder is 2kg per cubic meter of the test chamber volume, and the number of uses shall not exceed 20.

Environmental conditions:
①. Temperature: 5 ℃~35 ℃
②. Relative humidity: ≤ 85%
③. Air pressure: 86kPa~106kPa
Power supply conditions:
①. Voltage and frequency: AC220V ± 10%; 50Hz±10% ; Live wire+neutral wire+protective ground wire
②. Installed power: 1.5kW
③. Protective ground wire grounding resistance: The grounding resistance of the protective ground wire is less than 4 Ω
Power switch conditions:
1. Require users to equip the equipment with a leakage protection air switch of corresponding capacity at the installation site, and this switch must be independently used for this equipment;
2. Prohibit the use of knife switches or power sockets;
3. The leakage protection air switch should be located no more than 2 meters away from the equipment.
Usage site requirements:
①. The requirements for the use site of the sand and dust test chamber are: the ground is flat, and the ground bearing capacity is not less than 200kg/m2;
②. The site of the sand and dust test box is well ventilated, and there is no strong vibration, strong electromagnetic field influence, or flammable and explosive corrosive substances around it;
③. Leave appropriate space for use and maintenance around the sand and dust test chamber;
Can the sand and dust test chamber be tested with sand particles?
In fact, for testing sand and dust test chambers, if sand particles are used, they are an irregular object with varying shapes and sizes. Therefore, it is possible that the test standards may not be met, and some particles may become too large and block the screen. In more severe cases, it may cause damage to the screen and operational issues with sand and dust test equipment.
Media for sand and dust test chamber:
1. Crystalline minerals, olivine or feldspar;
2. Talc;
3. FE powder.

The dust test chamber is applicable to the IP5X and IP6X dustproof test of the products.
