UL 2075:2021 Gas and Vapor Detectors and Sensors

UL 2075:2021, published by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and updated in August 2021, is a safety standard covering fixed, portable, and transportable toxic and combustible gas/vapor detectors and sensors for ordinary non‑hazardous indoor, unconditioned, and outdoor locations. It applies to factory‑calibrated, sealed devices with no field recalibration or maintenance, specifying alarm limits: toxic gases per NIOSH TWA levels, combustible gases ≤25% LEL for detectors and up to 100% LEL for sensors.

This standard sets comprehensive requirements for product design, construction, performance, and testing, including a new one‑year sensor stability test to ensure long‑term reliability. It mandates end‑of‑life signaling, fault detection, and compliance with referenced codes like NFPA 70/72/715, while covering remote accessories and establishing safety benchmarks for gas/vapor detection equipment used in residential, commercial, and light industrial applications.
