LISUN’s Humidity Test Chamber

Introduction

An environmental chamber, also known as the climatic chamber, is an enclosed space used for testing specific environmental conditions on various industrial products, biological items, and multiple electronic devices. These chambers stimulate corrosion by the introduction of salt into the chamber. The dimensions of the chamber change depending on the size of the product. The size of the chamber usually ranges from 20-to 40,000. This size is big enough for testing the large truck!

Thus, an environmental chamber is used for many purposes like
• Testing the environmental effects on the test specimen
•  Preparation of test specimens for the physical and chemical tests
•  Conduction of specimens test

Common Specifications

Many products go through standard testing procedures that are widely accepted, including those from military IEC, ul, and iest.
• IEC 68-2-30, Test Db, 40 degrees Celsius
• IEC 68-2-30, Test Db, 55 degrees Celsius
• IEC 8-2-38, Test Z/AD
• MIL-STD 810E, Method 507.3, Procedure 1, Cycle 1
• MIL-STD 810 E, Method 507.3, Procedure 1, Cycle 3
• MIL-STD 810 E, Method 507.3, Procedure 3

Thermatron, a program controller, includes 10 pre-programmed tests, including 4 MIL standards and 3 IEC profiles. The procedure is called an aggravated cycle. Its purpose is to subject a product to elevated temperature and humidity conditions.

The cycle starts with a 95 % relative humidity approximately at 30 degrees Celsius, and then it heats up to 60 degrees Celsius. The temperature remains 60 degrees Celsius for the next six hours. Next, we cool down to 30 degrees Celsius and get the temperature for the next 4 hours. After that, we cool down the product and allow it to soak at the same temperature for another four hours. We maintain 95 percent relative humidity throughout the entire cycle. After this, the first cycle is complete. Taking 24 hours, it is ready to be repeated.

What is the humidity test chamber?

A humidity chamber, also called a climatic chamber, is an enclosure used to test the effects of specified environmental conditions on some biological products. It provides stimulation of temperature and humidity change. This chamber is not like the ESS chamber. It has a destructive effect on the sample. It functions most slowly and softly.

Uses

This chamber is mainly used to detect the performance of products in different environments.
It is also used to test the cold resistance, dry resistance, heat resistance, and wet resistance of the material.
It is usually used to test the quality of the products, like electronic products, the material of the building, matter and some cars.

Types of Humidity Chamber

The temperature and humidity chamber is divided into several types. The main difference between them is the structural design.

The first one is our standard design, which is the most common one. The second one is the desktop-type design. This chamber is very small, and you can put it easily on the desk. The third one is the floor chamber. In this chamber, we install the water tank in the back or side of the chamber. So, this chamber will be lower, and it’s more convenient to move products.

The fourth one is a walk-in chamber. It is the design for the big products, like cars.

Properties

The standard range of the chamber is -70 degrees Celsius to 150 degrees Celsius. Its humidity range is 20%~98%, from 20 degrees Celsius to 85 degrees Celsius. The heating rate is about 3~5 degrees Celsius/minute, and the cooling rate is about 0.7~1.5 degrees Celsius/minute. The temperature uniformity is +-2 degrees Celsius, and humidity uniformity is +-3%.

Heating Application

• One can heat a maximum of up to 60 degrees Celsius.
• To start the machine, switch on the mains.
• Press the set key to indicate the current temperature. Set the required temperature by using the up and down key.
• Again, press the set key to indicate relative humidity. Set the relative humidity by using the up and down key.
• Press the set key to start the operation.
• Peter will turn it on to convert the stored water into steam which is used to humidify the chamber.
• The hot air surrounding the heater is blown inside the chamber with the help of a fan.

Cooling Application

• One can pull up to 10 degrees Celsius.
• For a cooling effect, the air surrounding the evaporator is blown inside the chamber with the help of the fan.
• It is important to note here that in order to overcome the fluctuations, auto-tuning is done.

Test plans and procedures

We can conduct accelerated weathering in an environmental chamber. The chamber regulates the moisture and provides an additional parameter for testing. This parameter extreme the moisture and provides a dry and 100% saturated condition. After some time, you can place the sample into the water baths before inserting it into the chamber.

This action will stimulate the effect of chemical contaminants such as road salt. It will happen due to mixing some additives within the water bath. It would be best if you took care to avoid the contact of the containers with the water bath, as they might break with the water expansion.

Why is LISUN considered the best manufacturer?

The LISUN environmental chamber is popularly known for comprising some additional systems for better environmental testing. This includes a circulation system and a safety protection system. Apart from that, the circulation system includes a temperature-resistant and low noise air-conditioned motor and a multi-blade centrifugal wind wheel.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a humidity chamber work?

The humidity control chamber controls the environment at a targeted dew point temperature. After doing so, it reheats to a specified air temperature. It also maintains a constant dew point and air temperature that will produce a very constant relative humidity(RH).

What is the temperature and humidity test chamber?

Temperature humidity chambers (also known as climatic or climatic test chambers) are used to simulate the effects of a range of temperature and humidity conditions on a product or material, for example, telecommunications equipment or photovoltaic solar panels that are exposed to the outdoor temperature and humidity conditions.
