What is a gonio spectrophotometer?

In this day and age, traditional photometry laboratories are no longer in operation. Further functionalities
Time is the most frequent issue in photometric labs with a high number of luminaires. New gonio spectrophotometer designs may permit so-called on-fly measurements, i.e., without halting the gonio spectrophotometer once the arm is adjusted to a certain angle. In this variation, the luminaire is rotated uniformly in a particular location (plane), and a large number of measurements are collected from the whole range using the rapid measuring system. The computer software allocates the measured value to the predefined measurement step grid thanks to signals from the encoder. This needs a quick method of measurement.

It is recommended to attach extra slides (rails) to smoothly adjust the tripod with the measuring head along the measurement axis to make optimum use of the laboratory area and convenience. The measurement distance may be decreased for small items with a bit of flow without setting the measuring axis.

It is not required and is not customary to calibrate the whole goniometric apparatus, and the measurement equipment must be calibrated if a spectroradiometer or photometer is employed. The manufacturer shall offer an official laboratory calibration certificate or, if asked, by the client.
