  • The YWX/Q Series Salt Spray Test Chamber (also known as the Salt Spray Corrosion Tester and Salt Fog Test Chamber) is an environmental simulation device independently developed by LISUN specifically for corrosion resistance testing of materials and products. The function is to accurately simulate marine or industrial salt spray corrosion environments, thereby accelerating the evaluation of the salt spray corrosion resistance of metal coatings, paints/coatings, electronic components and complete products. This enables rapid identification of material protection defects or product structural design flaws, providing a scientific basis for product reliability verification, material selection and quality improvement.

    The YWX/Q Series Salt Spray Corrosion Tester adopts an integrally molded cabinet made of imported corrosion-resistant PP sheets (featuring no welding seams and leak-proof performance). Equipped with a high-precision temperature control system and an automatic spraying device, it can stably implement three mainstream test modes: Neutral Salt Spray (NSS), Acetic Acid Salt Spray (AASS) and Copper-Accelerated Acetic Acid Salt Spray (CASS). Meanwhile, it is equipped with intelligent functions such as automatic monitoring of salt spray sedimentation, timing control of test duration (0~9999 hours) and sound-light alarm for water shortage/overtemperature. From small-sample testing in laboratories to batch product verification on production lines, the YWX/Q Series Salt Fog Test Chamber can meet the corrosion resistance testing needs of products in different industries and with different sizes through flexible volume options and precise environmental control. It is an indispensable reliability testing equipment in fields such as LED lightings, consumer electronics, new energy, industrial control and coatings.

    Working environment requirements  The ambient temperature is 5℃~30℃. Ventilation is recommended. When the temperature exceeds 30℃, it is recommended to adjust the room temperature through appropriate methods. The ambient humidity is below 80%Rh.

    Recommendation: When using LISUN YWX/Q-010 salt spray test chamber, we recommend to choose a LISUN LS-EU800W2-55L air compressor (power 800W*2, capacity 55L, speed 1380r/min, pressure 0.7Mpa, flow 120L/m in, 220~240V/50Hz) or LS-US800W2-55L air compressor (power 800W*2, capacity 55L, speed 1380r/min, pressure 0.7Mpa, flow 120L/min, 110~120V/60Hz).

    What is salt spray corrosion?

    Corrosion is the destruction or deterioration of materials or their properties caused by the environment. Most corrosion occurs in the atmospheric environment, which contains corrosive components and factors such as oxygen, humidity, temperature changes, and pollutants. Salt spray corrosion is a common and most destructive atmospheric corrosion. The salt spray mentioned here refers to the chloride atmosphere, and its main corrosive component is the chloride salt in the ocean – sodium chloride, which mainly comes from the ocean and inland saline-alkali areas. The corrosion of the surface of metal materials by salt spray is caused by the chloride ions contained in it penetrating the oxide layer and protective layer on the metal surface and electrochemically reacting with the internal metal. At the same time, chloride ions contain a certain amount of hydration energy and are easily squeezed out by the pores and cracks adsorbed on the metal surface and replace the oxygen in the oxide layer, turning insoluble oxides into soluble chlorides and turning the passive surface into an active surface, thus it causing extremely bad adverse reactions to the product.
