Abstract:
The waterproof performance of electrical and electronic product enclosures directly determines the safety, reliability and service life of equipment under humid, rainy, immersion and other working conditions. Taking the LISUN JL-X open-type waterproof test system as the core waterproof equipment, this paper systematically elaborates on the testing principles, equipment composition, test methods and judgment criteria of full-grade IPX1–IPX8 waterproof testing in accordance with GB 4208, IEC 60529 and other standards. By simulating real water ingress scenarios such as dripping, rain shower, spraying and immersion in different environments, it comprehensively verifies the enclosure protection capability of products under rainwater, spraying, soaking and other conditions, providing standardized and reproducible testing schemes and technical support for the research and development, quality control and certification testing of electrical and electronic products.

4. Full-Process Waterproof Detection Method Based on Waterproof Equipment
Taking the LISUN JL-X waterproof equipment as the testing platform, the test is carried out in the order from low grade to high grade and mild condition to harsh condition. 4.2 IPX3/IPX4 Rain Shower and Splash Test
Adopt the JL-34 swing pipe or JL-34S handheld sprinkler, adjust the water pressure to 50–150kPa, and conduct the test at 1 minute per square meter of enclosure surface area with a minimum duration of 5 minutes. The swing angle is set as 120° for IPX3 and 180° for IPX4. The rotary table runs at a constant speed to ensure comprehensive water coverage and observe water seepage and ingress.

4.3 IPX5/IPX6 Water Jet Test
In the JL-56 water spray test system, replace the corresponding nozzles, adjust the flow rate to the standard value, and keep the nozzle 2.5–3m away from the sample for spraying within the specified time. Inspect sealing failure and internal water ingress under high-pressure water flow.

4.4 IPX7 Short-term Immersion Test
Place the sample into the JL-7 immersion tank and adjust the water depth in accordance with standards. For products with height less than 850mm, the lowest point shall be 1000mm below the water surface; for products with height above 850mm, the highest point shall be 150mm below the water surface. After constant temperature immersion for 30 minutes, take out the sample, wipe it dry and inspect internal structure and functions.

4.5 IPX8 Continuous Pressure Immersion Test
Use the JL-8 immersion tank to set the target water depth and pressure (maximum 50m/10atm), and keep continuous immersion for the specified time to evaluate the long-term underwater sealing reliability. An air compressor is equipped to ensure stable pressure.

4.6 Judgment Criteria
The product is judged qualified if it meets the following requirements after testing: no harmful water ingress; no water accumulation or condensation affecting safety and performance; no short circuit, electric leakage on live parts; no permanent damage to functions, insulation and sealing performance.
