RoHS Instruction:
The full name of ROHS in English is: Restriction of Hazardous Substances, and the full name in Chinese is “Directive on Restricting the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electronic and Electrical Equipment”. It is a mandatory standard established by EU legislation and started on July 1, 2006. Officially implemented, it is mainly used to standardize the material and process standards of electronic and electrical products, making them more conducive to human health and environmental protection. The purpose is to eliminate lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium (Cr6+), polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in electrical and electronic products, and a total of 6 substances, and require Lead (Pb) below 1000ppm, mercury (Hg) below 1000pp, cadmium (Cd) below 100ppm, hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) below 1000ppm, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) below 1000pp, polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) below 1000ppm.

RoHS Principle:
The ROHS detector is a detector for detecting ROHS. The principle is to use X-rays to detect the content of elements in the ROHS standard. At present, the common type on the market is X-ray fluorescence analyzer, which is divided into energy dispersion type and wavelength dispersion type. The energy dispersion type is simpler than the wavelength dispersion type because of its technical principle and structure, and is more common on the market now.

Current status of RoHS testing requirements:
Faced with the pressure of ROHS, machine manufacturers can easily transfer the pressure to suppliers. If the manufacturers of these components and spare parts cannot follow up on the harmlessness requirements of ROHS in time, they may be eliminated in the new round of screening of suppliers by the complete machine exporter. For example, a well-known company has about 1,000 suppliers, and half of them do not meet the requirements. Sony implemented higher corporate procurement standards than the two directives. As a result, more than 3,000 of its more than 4,000 suppliers were unqualified.

At this stage, component suppliers must do at least two things. One is to contact their suppliers to ensure that the raw materials they purchase meet the requirements of the EU; the other is to review their own processes to ensure that their products meet the requirements of the EU. Relevant manufacturers must start as soon as possible, because these tasks will consume corresponding time. The alternative technologies for these prohibited substances have higher costs and technical requirements, and they cannot be changed all at once. Therefore, RoHS tester is an indispensable equipment for suppliers of electronic components and accessories, and market demand at home and abroad is also growing.
