I. Principle of Ozone Test Chamber

The vulcanized rubber or thermoplastic rubber samples are exposed to air with constant ozone concentration and constant humidity in a sealed test chamber under static tensile strain conditions, and cracked condition of samples is checked according to predetermined time. According to the test methods and standards, it can be divided into “static” and “dynamic”. Static means that the sample is stretched and placed in the test chamber, and dynamic is that the sample is placed on the fixture in the test chamber, and the tension fluctuates around 5% – 45% of the tested sample itself.

1) Air circulation device: built-in circulation duct, the test gas flow can be uniformly parallel to the surface of the specimen from top to bottom;
2) The instrument is an integrated ozone concentration, temperature and humidity controller (set by light touch button), with good reliability and display resolution of temperature (0.1℃), humidity (0.1%RH) and ozone concentration (1pphm). The PID set value control is convenient to operate;
3) Electromagnetic air pump provides high-quality gas source to ensure the reliability of air path system for long-term operation;
4) The equipment itself is equipped with safety devices: 4.1 power overload, short circuit safety protection; 4.2 control loop overload, ground protection; 4.3 overtemperature protection, alarm signal prompt, lack of water protection;

6) Refrigeration mode: air cooling and compression refrigeration.

III. Is the ozone used in the Ozone Test Chamber toxic?

The ozone aging test box can release high concentration of ozone to non-metallic, organic materials (coatings, rubber, plastics, paint, pigments, etc.) for ozone aging test. Due to the release of high concentration of ozone, how to dispose of ozone after the test so as not to harm the testers is worth thinking about. In fact, two ventilating valves that can be opened (inclosed in normal working state) are installed at the back of the tank. Customers only need to connect to the outside, open the ozone exhaust button, and the fan in the box will be forced to suck in air and discharge high concentration ozone outdoors. When the ozone is discharged to the outside, its stability at room temperature is very poor, it will decompose into oxygen by itself, so customers need not worry about being harmed by inhaling high concentration ozone.

IV. What are the actual purposes of using ozone aging test boxes and other environmental test equipments and what is the relationship between the accuracy of their testing?

Firstly, if the test results of the ozone aging test box are not accurate, the first thing to consider is whether the equipment purchased is produced by conventional manufacturers? If not purchased from conventional manufacturers, the technology and process accuracy of the equipment cannot be achieved, which will directly affect the accuracy. If the equipment does not reach the accuracy, you need to communicate with the sales personnel of the manufacturer in time and replace the equipment.

Secondly, it is necessary to inspect whether the specimen is contaminated before checking, if it needs to be replaced, and whether it is affected by the surrounding environment. Do not let the equipment be exposed to long-term radiation. The humidity and temperature of the surrounding environment should also be within the specified range to provide stable voltage.

Thirdly, failure of parts of the equipment will also affect the test results. If the parts are damaged during the test, the test will be interrupted directly. Generally speaking, before the equipment is running, the operator will check all parts, and there will be unexpected failures affecting the equipment’s test results.

Fourthly, whether the equipment operation specification is correct, whether the parameter setting is correct. If the parameter setting is not correct, leading to the inaccurate results, it is necessary to correct the parameter in time and retest according to the correct process.

If the test results of the Ozone Test Chamber are not accurate, the test of the test object will be meaningless. Therefore, once the test equipment is found to have inaccurate test results, it needs to be dealt with in time.
