TIS166-2549 Figure A.2 Contact Test Gauge for Live Sockets

GNGPL-TIS166FA2-GA TIS166-2549 Figure A.2 Test Gauge is a set including Gauge A, Gauge B and Gauge C, manufactured in accordance with Thai Standard TIS 166-2549 Appendix A, Clause 9.101. This gauge set is applied to test the accessibility of live contact tubes of socket-outlets. It evaluates the anti-shutter protection structure of shutter-equipped sockets and distinguishes normal insertion and abnormal partial insertion conditions to verify the risk of accidental access to live components. It is the mandatory test fixture for Thai socket-outlets to obtain TIS safety certification. All metal parts of the gauges are made of non-corrosive stainless steel with sufficient mechanical strength.

Test Procedures:
• Open the shutter of the socket-outlet during testing.
• Test with Gauge A: Fully insert Gauge A into the socket entry holes in every possible position until plane X-X contacts the engagement surface of the socket. Connect a 40 V ~ 50 V electrical indicator. The indicator shall not light.
• Test with Gauge B: Fully insert Gauge B into the socket-outlet. The indicator shall light.
• Test with Gauge C: Fully insert Gauge C into the socket-outlet. The indicator shall not light.
• Repeat the full test for all socket positions of the sample.
