During these tests, the shutters shall be held open. The gauge shall be wiped free of grease prior to use. Gauge C2 shall be inserted into the socket-contact assembly by applying a maximum force of 50 N perpendicular to the engagement face of the socket-outlet. When the socket-outlet is positioned in its worst-case orientation, Gauge C2 shall not fall out of the socket-contact assembly under its own weight.

Subsequently, Gauge C1 shall be inserted into the socket-contact assembly. When the socket-outlet is positioned in its worst-case orientation, Gauge C1 shall also not fall out of the socket-contact assembly under its own weight.
