BS1363-1:2023 Figure 4 Pin Gauge

GNGPL-3604A this gauge is designed in strict accordance with Figure 4a & 4b of BS 1363-1:2023, used to verify the dimensional compliance of BS1363 plug pins, chamfer and ISOD earth pins. It inspects 58°~62° chamfer of live & neutral pins, flatness of pin surface, section tolerance of solid/castellated ISOD pins, judges whether plug pin outline meets standard limits, serving as basic measuring tool for BS plug dimensional inspection and type certification.

Specifications:

• Pin Chamfer Angle: 58° ~ 62°
• Pin End Dimension: 1.35mm, 1.85mm, single-side projection ≤0.2mm
• Solid ISOD Cross-section: Width 7.75~8.05mm, Height 3.90~4.05mm, geometric tolerance ≤0.15mm
• Castellated ISOD Cross-section: Width 7.75~8.05mm, Height 3.90~4.05mm, segment thickness ≥1.3B & 0.50mm
• Appearance Requirement: Pin edge radius ≤1mm, no burrs/sharp edges, flat pin surface within tolerance
• Test Object: Live/neutral pins, solid ISOD, castellated ISOD earth pins for BS 1363 plugs
• Dimensional Limit: No axial projection within 6.35mm from plug engagement surface

Test Procedures:
• Visual Inspection: Check pins are free of burrs/sharp edges, edge radius ≤1mm, pin surface flat.
• Chamfer Inspection: Fit gauge on live & neutral pin ends, verify chamfer angle 58°~62°, projection ≤0.2mm.
• Outline Limit Inspection: Align plug engagement surface with benchmark, confirm no axial projection within 6.35mm from engagement face.
• ISOD Pin Measurement
– Solid ISOD: Measure width & height, ensure all form tolerances ≤0.15mm;
– Castellated ISOD: Measure segment thickness and overall dimension, meet minimum size limits.
• Result Judgement: Pass if all dimension, shape, chamfer and flatness meet standard; otherwise fail.
