  • GNGPL-SU0196 this large test probe is manufactured in accordance with UL 498:2019 Figure 139.2 and Clause 139.3, used for tamper-resistant receptacle anti-bypass performance test to verify the protection mechanism against forced access. It is made of tool steel and meets the drawing dimension and hardness requirements.

    • Applied test force: 10 lbf (45 N)
    • Dimensions (inch): Shaft Ø0.150±0.005, Tip R0.125±0.005, Length 1.00±0.030, Slot thickness 0.060±0.001 & 0.030±0.002

    Test Procedures:
    • Use twelve receptacle specimens previously tested in Clause139.2;
    • Apply this probe to each slot opening with 45 N force to attempt bypassing the tamper-resistant mechanism;
    • Insert the probe successively in three directions for approx. 5 seconds per direction;
    • Withdraw the probe when switching directions; no movement or rotation during each holding period;
    • Connect ohmmeter / buzzer indicator to check contact with live internal parts.
