GNGPL-TIS166FA7 TIS166-2549 Fig A.7 Test Gauge set consists of two pin gauges, manufactured in accordance with Thai Standard TIS 166-2549 Appendix A, Clause 22. This gauge is used for minimum withdrawal force test of socket-outlets. The self-weight of the gauge provides pulling load to verify the minimum clamping capacity of socket contact sleeves and avoid accidental plug drop-out and power interruption. It is mandatory test fixture for Thai socket-outlets to obtain TIS safety certification. The gauges are made of non-corrosive stainless steel. Pin diameter and insertion depth follow standard tolerances; the body length is designed so that its own weight equals the specified withdrawal force.

Test Procedures:
• Select the gauge with required insertion depth according to standard requirements.
• Vertically insert the gauge fully into the socket entry hole.
• Apply withdrawal load by the gauge’s own weight and observe whether the gauge slips out.
• If the gauge does not fall out under its own weight, the socket clamping force meets the minimum withdrawal force requirement.
• Repeat the test for all socket positions of the sample.
