IEC 63294:2021 Test methods for electric cables with rated voltages up to and including 450/750V

IEC 63294:2021 specifies a complete set of test methods for electric cables with rated voltages up to and including 450/750 V. It does not cover tests for non-metallic materials defined in the IEC 60811 series, and serves as the supporting testing basis for cable product standards such as GB/T 5013 and GB/T 5023.

This standard categorizes tests into electrical and non-electrical items. Electrical tests include conductor resistance, finished cable voltage test, water immersion voltage test, insulation resistance and insulation integrity. Non-electrical tests cover mechanical and process assessments like flexing test, triple bend test, falling weight impact test and soldering test. It unifies requirements for samples, equipment, operating procedures and result evaluation, applicable to type tests and routine tests of finished cables.
