How to evaluate the LED power driver?

LED power driver is one of the key parts of LED luminaries, the performance of the driver will greatly affect the product quality. The lower driver efficiency, the lower efficiency conversion ratio, this is not only influence the product quality, and also will bring the heat dissipation problem. The driver failure is the important factor to affect the LED life. Now the power driver is the reason caused the LED failure and flicker, so LED power driver test is not ignored.

LED power driver is a voltage transformer which converts the power supply to certain voltage and current to driver the LED emitting. Generally, there are two conversion methods, AC to DC and DC to DC. And there are three drive modes: constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV) and CC&CV. The driver performance is so important to do the LED driver test. At the moment, LED driver test includes electric performance test and EMC test.

Electric performance is the basic characteristics of LED driver, which directly affect the LED light quality and energy efficiency conversion. Input, output and startup characteristics are the main parts for LED driver test.
